ETS Tests

In September 2007 a redesigned version of the TOEIC was released - both are internationally recognised, and are valid and reliable assessments of English ability.
Institutional Test Centres can administer either the Classic TOEIC or Redesigned TOEIC to their students. Public Test Centres test the latest form (released monthly) of the Redesigned TOEIC on public test dates.
The redesigned test is the result of a decade of ETS research on the English language and how people communicate in practical, everyday circumstances. The research confirmed the need for assessments that reflect authentic tasks such as those encountered in the global business environment. The TOEIC was revised, the newer “redesigned” test reflects the work of ETS test development experts and maintains the score scale of the classic TOEIC test.
Many aspects of the classic test that have been carried through to the new version.
Both tests share the following attributes:
Range of Difficulty - surveys and testing has revealed that many students found that questions on both the redesigned test and Classic test were the same in terms of difficulty level.
Scoring Range and Scales - are exactly the same on both tests
Validity, Reliability and Quality - are the same on both tests.
